How Omarion Stole Christmas

As we (me not included, lol) all thought that things would be closer to "normal" this holiday, here comes Omarion dancing his ass into the holiday season with a gift that none of us wanted.  Not only did Big O unexpectedly dance his way into the holiday he touched a lot of people and quickly.  For the past 7 days I've seen. people making reels and posts about having to spend Christmas in quarantine because they've tested positive.  Crazy right?!  I saw a post on IG that said apologize to your conspiracy friends because if you know you know.  This is your reminder to do what you need to do to boost your immune system sis.

Now the holidays are my favorite time of year but this year just didn’t cut it.  I looooove Christmas music but that didn’t even give me the feels.  A lot of us don’t realize the impact this pandemic has had on our mental and emotional state.  So if you haven’t been in the best of moods it’s ok, believe me you’re not alone. Seasonal depression, anxiety, grief is all real and we are all experiencing it at an all time high.  None of us have ever experienced living through a pandemic and the shit is draining.  Allow yourself to feel your emotions whatever they may be and don’t try to sweep them under the rug for you to deal with them later. My best friend sent me a book entitled "Whole Again" by Jackson McKenzie and in the book it talks about how we need to learn to feel our emotions. We’ve been taught or we’ve seen or heard to brush our feelings to the side, to be strong, to keep it moving but none of that is healthy for our mental state or emotional health. When  how we feel is not truly felt the emotion will always linger. So take the time to take care of yourself mentally and physically. Go out for a walk, make sure you intake the right amounts of vitamins and minerals daily.  I take seamoss, vitamin D, magnesium, and zinc daily.  Read a good book, find you a good therapist or whatever works for you.  All in all you’re allowed to feel how you feel but also have an action plan in place to help get you back into the right headspace as well.

Well that’s it for my checking in today I’ll see y'all next week and y’all know I love you but most importantly love yourself first!
